Online Show for Mayne Artists
Effective immediately, let's celebrate and share the creativity on our island during this difficult time. Mayne artists are invited to submit an image for an online art show hosted on the this website.
The theme for the show is "Our Island" and is open to interpretation. To some it will mean the landscape or seascape, the flora or fauna, or the people and activities that happen on Mayne. It could also mean work that's made on Mayne, or that utilizes materials found on the island, or that features the colours or textures of the place, or that reflects the emotions it generates. The goal is to create a showcase for Mayne's artistic community that we can share and enjoy from the safety of our homes. All mediums are welcome including drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, etc. Work does not have to be new. It can be for sale or not.
Don't delay! We want to get this show up and running as soon as possible. To participate, simply email a digital photo of your art to email@example.com with "Online Show" in the subject line. Ideally the file size should be no larger than 600 pixels on the largest side, but for those whose technical expertise is limited, simply send a digital photo and we will do the rest. (Note that if your art is framed under glass, please remove the glass before photographing. Also note that photographing your work outdoors and not in direct sunlight is recommended.)
The information accompanying your image is the same as it would be for any show: title, medium, price, artist's name and contact information (website, email address or phone number).
While we encourage participants to be Arts on Mayne members, we know this is a difficult financial time for many and will be waiving the membership fee for the time being. However, if you would like to join or renew your membership, you can do so online at: http://www.artsonmayne.org/join.html. If you're uncomfortable using Paypal, payment can be made by cheque which you can deposit in the wooden drop box under the Yellow Bird Studio sign at 763 Steward Drive.
